I started my professional freelance translation activity in November 2012.
I worked for several years in the computer and technology fields, first as a Technical Writer in a consulting and digital services company, then as a QA Analyst in a start-up specialising in QA test. In 2015, I achieved the ISTQB® Certified Tester, Foundation Level certification.
My enthusiasm for the French language, my mother tongue, as well as a strong attraction for other languages and cultures, Spanish and English in particular, have been key elements in my choice to study foreign languages.
I discovered and started exploring the professional translation world during my initial university education and decided to follow this path to combine my language preferences with communication and knowledge building in various specialisation fields, especially in the technical and legal areas.
I graduated in 2009 from the university of Grenoble (Stendhal Grenoble III, now UGA) with a Master's degree in Multilingual Specialised Translation.
This Master's degree is part of the "European Master's in Translation" network (EMT).
As part of my university studies, I did a number of work placements in translation agencies and non-profit organisations in different countries (France, Spain and Morocco) for periods of two to six months.
Based on this double experience in both translation and tech industries and over the years of work in that field, I have specialised in the information and communication technologies, a continuously evolving innovative sector.
Passionate about languages and cultural exploration, I have always considered immersion in the country as the best method of strengthening learning of a language. Thus, I went on various language stays and have taken every opportunity to travel, whether for work or leisure to countries where my source languages are spoken, but not exclusively!
Both in the academic and professional contexts, I have been trained on the use of many computer-aided translation tools.
CAT tools have always been part of my translation work.
This type of software assist the translator in some aspects of the translation process allowing them, among other things, to create, (re)use and manage translation memories and term bases, including in a file format compatible with other tools.
I am currently working with Trados Studio.
I only translate into French, my mother tongue. Choosing a professional translator, native speaker of the language into which the text is to be translated is an essential criterion for the quality of the translation.
